Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Chapter

Message from Chapter Leader

Our mission: Usage of open standards for heterogeneous computing and computer graphics to enhance software industry competitiveness.

I'm very honored to be the first Leader of Khronos Chapters Brazil and I look forward to bringing together companies, laboratories, web developers and programmers that can largely benefit from supercomputing in the most diverse areas, such as computer simulation, big data analysis, online display of 3D data and many other applications. Currently, OpenCL and OpenCL/GL interop offer unprecedented computing power insofar as these technologies enable simultaneous utilization of multiple cores of CPUs, GPUs, APUs and FPGAs. Working in the energy industry myself, I understand the importance of obtaining more performance using power-efficient devices and I feel that this is the right time to board the supercomputing ship and gain competitive advantage using Kronos' open standards.
