OpenGL ES on Android Jump Start
1 Broadway (crossing of Broadway & 3rd St), Cambridge, MA, Cambridge, MA (map)
Let’s get started developing exciting graphical apps for Android. We’ll use the awesome power of dedicated silicon unlocked by the OpenGL ES API to create gorgeous graphics at super smooth frame rates, all displayed on a phone that fits in your pocket.
Bring an Android device if you have one, and if not, some extras will be available for use.
Since Android Studio and Unity are both hefty downloads, follow the links below to install them on your machine prior to the meetup:
Once either one of them are up and running, we will walk you through the creation, build and deployment processes and get your first GL app running on an Android device. From there, the only limits are your own creativity and battery life.
We’ll be meeting in the Charles Conference Room on the 14th floor of CIC, 1 Broadway.
Attendance is free and open to anyone. Pizza will be provided at the meetup.
MIT’s Hayward Lot is very close and free after 5PM.
